Welcome to the Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame.

The City of Coquitlam has announced that because the health and well-being of their patrons, partners and employees is a top priority, they will be closing the Poirier Sport and Leisure Centre as of Monday, March 16th. The Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame is housed in that facility and support that decision. As such, our displays will be unavailable to the public until further notice as well.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future! Stay healthy and connected!

To honour athletes, coaches, builders and teams from the City of Coquitlam for their outstanding contribution or achievement in sport.

The Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame is where yesterday and today are celebrated and where athletic accomplishments and efforts are recognized. Developed as part of the Coquitlam Sports Centre renewal project in 2010, the Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame provides a glimpse into the terrific achievements and legacies of our athletes and our community. And it all began with an idea. <more..>

The Nominations have been moved up to March 9, 2020. Make sure you get your nominations in before then.

Springtime call for Wall, Hall of Fame nominees in Coquitlam
COQUITLAM, BC – March is where baseball’s spring training hits its groove, basketball fever reaches a new height and thoughts of playoff hockey are either ramped up or put to bed.

It’s also a perfect time to submit a nominee for this year’s Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame celebration.

The Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame, a nonprofit local organization that promotes the communities sports heroes and accomplishments for both a yearly and career basis, continues to accept nominations for this year’s gala event. But time is running out to submit more candidate(s).

The deadline to submit a nomination for either the Wall (recognizing achievements in the last calendar year) or Hall (honouring the sporting careers of athletes, teams, builders and volunteers in our community) is March 9, 2020.

Submitting a nomination is easy – just visit the website www.coquitlamshof.com and scroll under either the Hall or Wall tabs for the appropriate form. To submit written or copied info/records, mail to: Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame, 1450 Hartley Avenue, PO Box 1212, Coquitlam, BC V3J 1S0

Nominators should provide a list of accomplishments, including details either for 2019 (Wall) or a period of some years (Hall) for someone who/a team that is identified with Coquitlam. The Hall of Fame acknowledges those persons who are community members, either raised or during their sports career/involvement, who have resided (reside) in the community for a considerable period or contributed to organization/teams based in Coquitlam.

The Wall of Fame pays tribute to the city’s athletes, teams and volunteers who reached a pinnacle of success in the previous calendar year. Nominees should be Coquitlam residents/natives, or playing/contributing on a Coquitlam-based entity (eg. sports or school team).

The Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame volunteer executive will announce the 2019 Class of Inductees and Wall of Fame honourees in May, for the annual gala induction in mid-June.
